|Wijnand Otto Jan Nieuwenkamp|
Wijnand Otto Jan Nieuwenkamp (1874-1950; Amsterdam, Holland) first visited Bali in 1904 and made many drawings of landscapes, temples, buildings, ceremonies, artifacts, and people which were published in 1910, 1911. His graphic illustrations show a great amount of detail and are important visual records of Balinese traditional life at the time. He visited the island again in 1910, 1918, 1922, and 1937 and did many more drawings of the changes on the island over the years. He also published books on Balinese architecture and sculpture in 1926 and 1928.
